First Direct Arena, Leeds

Rotary were commissioned to install the full M, E & P services to the new 12,000 seat First Direct Arena, Leeds. The project provided a fully flexible and sustainable, performance and sports venue consisting of full arena ‘bowl’, concourse and public areas, executive hospitality boxes, restaurants and lounges along with back of house facilities for star performers and arena management teams.
Work included: high level bowl ventilation, high level bowl and stage lighting, exterior feature lighting consisting of LED colour changing tracery and LED panels, medium voltage and low voltage distribution, air source heat pumps, rainwater recovery installation, fibre optic network infrastructure, automatic, central controlled lighting, all domestic water installations and various heating installations

Aberdeen Aquatics Centre

This £18.2 million Aquatic Centre is the next phase of the Aberdeen Sports Village development, building on the success of the £28 million regional sports centre, which opened in August 2009, and is a partnership between Aberdeen University, Sportscotland and Aberdeen City Council. Rotary Building Services were appointed to deliver the full mechancal and electrical services package.
Work includes: variable refrigerant flow system, hot and cold water, lighting and emergency lighting, above ground drainage, security detection and alarm, air curtains, lightning protection, high voltage/low voltage cabling and wiring, small power, disabled facilities, fire detection and alarm, intruder alarm, ventilation system, building management system, access control, low temperature hot water heating system, radio/TV/CCTV and low voltage switchgear and distribution boards.

Rotary Building Services delivered the full mechanical and electrical package on this high profile project in the centre of Billingham. The project consisted of four large venues under one roof, a 400-seat theatre with full back stage and dressing room facilities, a competition swimming pool, dry sports areas such as tennis and football along with a major league ice hockey arena which will plays host to many high profile national and international matches. This project was a very complex full refurbishment with the building stripped back to shell to enable this truly world-class facility to be delivered.
Rotary worked very closely will all stakeholders and tracked to ensure total client satisfaction on the project at all times. The project contains both swimming pool and ice rink plant services along with CHP generation. The whole facility is complimented with a state-of-the-art lighting system integrated with full graphic projection system for high profile events.
